Kirland Newman

Kirkland Newman is an Anglo-American journalist and entrepreneur. She is the Founder and Editor of MindHealth360, a free, global resource for integrative mental health and functional medicine psychiatry, the Host of The MindHealth360 Show, and the Executive Director of IMMH, Integrative Medicine for Mental Health.
She created MindHealth360 after her own postpartum depression to address the epidemic of mental health issues and the lack of sustainable, root-cause based solutions for mental health in mainstream medicine. She launched the MindHealth360 Show in 2020 to give a voice to the top practitioners of integrative mental health from around the world. In 2023, she took over the leading integrative mental health conference in the US, IMMH, to educate mental health practitioners about the latest scientific research and best clinical practice in integrative mental health and functional medicine psychiatry.
She has worked for Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Ogilvy & Mather in New York, and for Musiclegal and The Prince’s Trust in London. She is a Co-Founder and Trustee of The Horizon Foundation which provides support for young refugees from the Middle East and Asia.
Kirkland has a first class/summa cum laude BA/MA from Oxford University in Modern Languages and Literature (French and Spanish); an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in European Studies; and an MA from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in Near and Middle Eastern Studies. Her dissertation “The Battle for Victimhood, Roles and Narratives of Suffering in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict” was published in “Narrating Conflict in the Middle East: Discourse, Image and Communications Practices in Lebanon and Palestine”.

Having recovered from her own health challenges with the support of a functional approach, Fiona is a keen advocate for personalised, integrative medicine. She believes that the wealth of knowledge, resources and ever-growing number of providers practising this form of healthcare should be accessible to all.
Fiona’s unique perspective as a former patient, practitioner and practice administrator has led her to a career providing specialist business support in the health and well-being field. She is very proud to be working alongside Kirkland and the team at MindHealth360 and IMMH.
She is a qualified nutritional therapist and mental health first aider. She loves learning and thrives on connecting with others in the healthcare world.

William Shaw, Ph.D. received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and human physiology from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is board certified in the fields of clinical chemistry and toxicology by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry.
Dr. Shaw has supervised large endocrinology, nutritional biochemistry, toxicology, and immunology departments in positions at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Smith Kline Laboratories in Atlanta, GA.
As the Founder and Director of Science and Innovation at The Great Plains Laboratory in Lenexa, Kansas, he specializes in providing diagnostic tools that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, mitochondrial disorders, neurological diseases, chronic health issues, and immune diseases.

Lori Knowles-Jimenez

Lori Knowles-Jimenez has a B.A. degree from Frostburg State University and became involved with autism and integrative medicine after her youngest son was diagnosed in 2000. Her son Daniel eventually lost his diagnosis after being evaluated by NIH after 10+years of biomedical treatments and nutritional therapies addressing the root cause of his autistic symptoms. He went on to graduate from KU, is living independently and working successfully in the IT field.
Lori has spoken frequently at autism conferences around the world on how biomedical treatments can significantly improve the lives of individuals with ASD. She co-founded New Beginnings Nutritionals, a company which distributes high-quality nutritional supplements world-wide that support individuals with autism, mental health and other chronic illnesses.
She is currently building a library of educational resources for medical practitioners wishing to learn more about targeted nutritional therapies combatting the root causes of most disease and chronic illness.
Lori has also been an integral part of the launching, organization and planning of the IMMH conferences since its inception.

James Greenblatt, MD

A pioneer in the field of integrative medicine, James M. Greenblatt, MD, has treated patients since 1988. After receiving his medical degree and completing his psychiatry residency at George Washington University, Dr. Greenblatt completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medical School. Dr. Greenblatt currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Walden Behavioral Care in Waltham, MA and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine and Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine.
An acknowledged integrative medicine expert, educator, and author, Dr. Greenblatt has lectured internationally on the scientific evidence for nutritional interventions in psychiatry and mental illness. Through three decades of practice and research, Dr. Greenblatt is a leading contributor to helping physicians and patients understand the role of the personalized medicine for mental illness.
In April of 2017, Dr. Greenblatt was inducted into the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame by the International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine.

Arwen Podesta, MD, ABPN, FASAM, ABIHM

Practicing in New Orleans, Arwen Podesta, MD is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with sub-specializations in addiction medicine, forensic psychiatry, and integrative medicine. She opened Podesta Wellness in 2012 with a team of some of the best treatment providers in the area- a multidisciplinary collaborative model with nutrition, psychotherapy, acupuncture and psychiatry. Dr. Podesta’s primary focus is access to integrative mental health and addiction treatment, with a whole health focus, for all. Her current activities include teaching (Tulane and LSU), consulting in court related cases, president of the Louisiana chapter of the American Psychiatric Association, past-president of the Louisiana chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, council member of the Louisiana Opioid Abatement Task Force, and board member of the Alliance for Benzodiazepine Best Practices She recently re-released her 2016 book, HOOKED: A concise guide to the underlying mechanics of addiction treatment for patients, families and providers. Sharon Hausman-Cohen, MD, FAAFP, ABIHM

Dr. Sharon Hausman-Cohen is the Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of IntellxxDNA. Dr. Hausman-Cohen has been in the field of integrative medicine for over 25 years. She is the co-author of many publications and a textbook chapter relating to using genomics to improve outcomes in cognitive decline and autism. She is proud that IntellxxDNA is being used in studies being done by Dr. Bredesen and his team and other groups studying complex illness, as well as by well-respected functional medicine trained physicians across the country. She and her co-founder developed IntellxxDNA as an answer to an unmet need in the medical community; the need for an accurate, evidence-based genomics tool geared at helping physicians practice true root cause medicine, whether the patient has cardiometabolic disease, brain concerns or medical mysteries. Dr. Hausman-Cohen received both her master’s degree and medical degree from Harvard Medical School. In addition to supervising the research for IntellxxDNA she practices at Resilient Health in Austin.

Kat Toups, MD

Kat Toups, MD is a Functional Medicine Psychiatrist whose practice is devoted to Functional Medicine Psychiatry and functional approaches for treating Cognitive Impairment and Dementia. Dr. Toups is Board-Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and previously boarded in Geriatric Psychiatry. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (the highest honor bestowed by the APA), and is also a Certified Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Dr. Toups was formerly an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at U.C. Davis, where she was the Inpatient Residency Training Director, and later the founder and Medical Director of the Bay Area Research Institute, a Clinical Trials Research Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. After 12 years serving as the Principal Investigator on over 100 clinical trials, including 20 failed trials for Alzheimer’s medications, she finally realized that the elusive cure for brain and psychiatric illness was not going to be found in a pill.
Dr. Toups has been practicing Functional Medicine Psychiatry for the past decade, and has been a featured speaker at national and international medical conferences on Dementia and Functional Medicine Psychiatry topics, as well as a frequent guest on podcasts and summits.
Dr. Toups was a contributing author to the academic textbook Integrative Therapies for Depression published in 2015 by CRC Press, and wrote the chapter, Decoding Dementia, in the book Life 201 as part of a project for a PBS television fund-raiser.
She recently completed a collaboration with Dr. Dale Bredesen on a prospective clinical trial to reverse mild cognitive impairment and early dementia: Precision Medicine Approach to Alzheimer’s Disease: Successful Proof-of-Concept Trial that is currently being submitted for publication.
Dr. Toups is also the author of an upcoming book, Dementia Demystified: The Definitive Guide to Resurrecting Your Brain, Reversing Cognitive Decline, and Regaining Your Memory.

Felice Gersh, MD

Felice Gersh, MD is a multi-award winning physician with dual board certifications in OB-GYN and Integrative Medicine. She is the founder and director of the Integrative Medical Group of Irvine, a practice that provides comprehensive health care for women by combining the best evidence-based therapies from conventional, naturopathic, and holistic medicine. For 12 years, she taught obstetrics and gynecology at Keck USC School of Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor, and she now serves as an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Felice is a prolific writer and lecturer who speaks globally on women’s health and regularly publishes in peer-reviewed medical journals. Leslie Korn, PhD, MPH

Leslie Korn, PhD, MPH, specializes in the use of integrative medicine and the treatment of stress, trauma, cognitive function and chronic physical illness. She has been in clinical practice for over 40 years.
She began her training over 45 years ago in the jungle of Mexico and completed it in the “jungle” at Harvard Medical school in the departments of psychiatry and public health.
Dr. Korn is a licensed psychotherapist, national board certified in clinical supervision, certified in Functional Nutrition, and board certified in Polarity therapy, Bodywork and Massage therapy. She has a private practice working with clients to improve mental health and reduce or eliminate medications using natural medicines.
She developed the Brainbow Blueprint®, an individualized integrative approach based on decades of clinical experience and research.
Over 30,000 health professionals have completed Dr. Korn’s certification programs in integrative medicine and nutrition. She also supervises and mentors integrative clinicians.
Dr. Korn pioneered somatic therapies for the treatment of mental illness at Harvard Medical School as a clinical fellow and instructor in psychology and religion and implemented wellness, multicultural, and addiction recovery programs in 10 languages for HUD housing tenants.
She directs the Leslie Korn Institute of Integrative Medicine. She is the founding director of the Center for Traditional Medicine, and director of research and education at the Center for World Indigenous Studies, a nonprofit advancing the rights of indigenous peoples worldwide.
